They use tooth-coloured brackets made from a ceramic material that adhere to the font of your teeth, so they are virtually invisible when you smile. The archwire that does the work to move your teeth can be white or silver.
Nowadays ceramic braces are made with strong composite materials and they are durable. They don’t typically break or chip easily.
The brackets likely won’t stain, but the clear bands that connect the archwire to brackets can stain easily. They are replaced at each adjustment appointment, but you still may want to avoid dark stained foods and beverages.
They do cost slightly more because the materials are more expensive.
At East Barnet Village Dental Practice, we offer a range of orthodontic brace systems to suit your lifestyle and budget. Contact us on 020 8441 4213 learn more about ceramic braces or to book a consultation.Back to treatments
